STUDENT/FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

1.  Senior News: 

·         Cherry Hill West will no longer accept checks from seniors after May 8.   Families must make all payments to the district with money orders or cash beginning May 9.

·         The senior obligation list is currently posted outside the main office, student activities in the cafeteria, guidance, upper F wing and the library.  Students must clear all obligations before graduation.

·         The big group senior portrait will be taken on Thursday, May 17 at 8:15 AM.  Envelopes for purchase will be distributed that week.

·         Seniors needing their health records for college may retrieve them in the Nurses’ Office until June 1.  Families with questions may contact Mrs. Kowal.

·         Senior families invited to the Cherry Hill Education Foundation Academic Brunch on June 10 must RSVP (both acceptances and regrets) to the Activities Office no later than Friday, May 25.  (Invitations were mailed May 8.)  Students are the guests of the Foundation; parents, step-parents and guardians may attend but must pay for their own meals.

·         The senior Hall of Fame Assembly will take place on Tuesday, May 22 at 8 AM in the new auditorium.

 

2. West athletes planning to play fall sports in the 2012-2013 school year may have their physicals on June 7 from 2:30-4 PM.  Forms which are available from the nurse, Mr. Papa, or coaches, must be returned to the Nurses’ Office no later than May 14 for the physical on this date.  On June 28 sports physicals will be offered at Carusi.  Check the website for more details.

 

3.  AFJROTC along with SGO will be collecting donations for our troops. Envelopes for cash donations will be in all homeroom teachers’ mailboxes; collection boxes will also be throughout the building.

 

4.  Juniors who were photographed at the April portrait sittings have received their proofs via mail/e-mail.  The Activities Office reminds all families to return the yearbook choice to the studio ASAP.  Anyone who wishes to have a second sitting or those needing to be photographed for the first time may schedule a June 25 or 26 appointment by contacting customer service at Herff-Jones directly (1-800-334-1531).  June photos will be taken in the West library.

 

5.  May 7 begins the two-week cycle of AP exams.  The library and tech room will be in use for these tests for most of the time and will be closed to students during times of testing.  Staff and students are asked to be extra quiet and considerate in the hallways near the tech room and library to give AP students the best possible environment in which to concentrate and perform.

 

6.  Students who ordered rings in February and who did not pick them up on Monday, May 7 may do so on Wednesday, May 16 in the cafeteria from 7:45-8:15 AM.   Student balances must be paid in full at that time.

 

7.  All students are reminded in the coming weeks to clean out their lockers and return all books, uniforms, and equipment—any school-issued property to the appropriate teachers before leaving at the end of the year.  Cherry Hill West does not clear books left in lockers.

 

8.  Students who need help with homework or other class assignments can get help on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school in the library.  Homework Helpers will be available from 2:30-3:30.  Students should get a pass from their teachers.

10.  Students with locker issues or questions must get a pass from their homeroom teachers to see Mr. Tucci in the cafeteria during their lunch periods or immediately before/after school (7:45 AM/2:35 PM). 

 

11.  Yearbook News:

·         Yearbooks are now on sale at www.jostens.com.  The cost will be $90.   Please contact Miss Brennan for any questions (kbrennan@chclc.org).

·         The Rampant Yearbook staff needs photos of club activities for inclusion in the 2012 yearbook.  Please submit digital photos to rampantyearbook@gmail.com and hard copy photos to Mike Ciavarella’s mailbox.

 

12.  Reminders from Dr. Meloche:

·         With the arrival of the warmer weather, students must remember the dress code and what is appropriate and inappropriate for school.  Short shorts, bare midriffs, spaghetti strap shirts/dresses, overly revealing shirts are not acceptable to wear during school.  Anyone with questions may contact house principals.

·         Cell phones, i-pods and electronic devices are not permitted to be out or used from the time students arrive on campus until the end of the school day.

 

13.  Students wishing to submit the new activities fee for participation in athletics and clubs may take their payment to Mrs. Manfredi in the Guidance Office.

 

14.  Students wishing to return or pay for school books or equipment may see Mrs. Reilly in the student activities office in the cafeteria any time after 8:15 AM until 12 PM.

 

15.  Juniors and seniors planning to attend announced college visitations must get a special pass from the guidance office in advance.  In order to attend, students must have the pass signed by the classroom teacher whose class they will miss.  Anyone wishing to see the list of visiting colleges may see it in the hallway outside the guidance office or online (West website).

 

FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

1.  For your planning purposes :

2.  IMPORTANT!  Faculty members/club advisors and coaches who wish to use the building for any meetings or activities should contact Carole Roskoph so that they are put on the building usage calendar.

 

3. Groups needing to post signs are reminded to have them stamped in the Student Activities Office before displaying them.  No signs are to be placed on any walls, windows, or doors.  All displays must be removed in a timely fashion.

 

4.  All club advisors are asked to contact Joanne Reilly with their clubs meeting dates, locations, and times by 3 PM Wednesday of the preceding week. 

 

5.  All fundraisers must be pre-approved by Ms. Roskoph.  Information should also be given to Mrs. Reilly to include in the bulletin.

 

6.  The fourth interim marking period ends on May 16.
