Congratulations to the West Dance Team for winning the 2012 EDA Nationals in Varsity Hip Hop. They also placed 3rd in the Varsity Jazz Division. The team won "best choreography" for their Avatar inspired jazz number, and "Eastern Elite Team" award for the highest score of the entire competition for their Mime inspired Hip Hop number. Amazing job Ladies!

Welcome to the Spirit of West! In the past eight years our teams have accomplished amazing things. The cheerleading squad has become a force to be reckoned with on the competition floor and at football games. Placing second in 2007 at the cheerleading state championships, in the coed division, the team has really made a name for themselves. This past year they competed in many local competitions and continued to remain on top beating out amazing cheer programs all over south jersey. They competed for the second time at the 2011 Cheer Tech Spirit Nationals this year and came home with the 2nd place trophy in the large varsity division. At every football game they are energetic, spirited and truly show their West pride. The dance team with only seven years of experience has become one of the best in New Jersey. Not only do they entertain the crowds at basketball games, but they compete all over as well. Placing first in the state for Hip Hop in 2011 the ladies have proven to be the team to beat! In their sixth EDA National Championship appearance the team was able to win the national championship title in Hip Hop with their "Mimes" routine. The girls also brought home some specialty awards; "most creative choreography", for their jazz routine "Avatar." Finally they were awarded "Eastern Elite Team" for the highest overall score of the competition! We believe that "tomorrows success begins today," and through their hard work, dedication and pride our journey has only just begun...
